Zoom is a highly popular tool for video conferencing. Its popularity increased a lot after the outbreak of Covid-19. Like other technical solutions, Zoom faces issues from time to time. The error code 10004 is a common Zoom error that many people across the world face.
Zoom Update Error Code 10004 occurs when you try to open the app on your device and the Zoom app is unable to connect to its server. As a result, the software does not update itself. It interrupts you while accessing the app for a meeting or allied jobs. Zoom server issues, problems with the internet connectivity, firewall restrictions, and outdated Zoom client are causes of this error. Here are some quick fixes for your help:
Check whether Zoom is down
Step 1: Open a web browser on your device. For example, Google Chrome.
Step 2: In the address bar, type status.zoom.us and hit the Enter key.
Step 3: Wait for the appearance of the message – All Systems are Operational. This message appears when there is no issue with the Zoom server.
Step 4: Click on the Zoom app and see its different drop-down menus like Zoom Meetings or Zoom Support. Tap on the plus (+) icon to see the status.
Step 5: Wait until the issue is resolved if you notice any server side issue.
Manually update your Zoom app
Step 1: Launch the Zoom app.
Step 2: Click on your profile icon/pic on the top right corner.
Step 3: Choose Check For Updates.
Step 4: Download and install the updates if there are any updates.
Reinstall the Zoom app
Step 1: Go to the list of apps on your device.
Step 2: Find and click on the Zoom application.
Step 3: Choose Uninstall.
Step 4: Click on Uninstall or OK to confirm your request.
Step 5: Wait until the uninstallation process ends.
Step 6: Now, visit the official website or open Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Step 7: Look for Zoom and click on the Download option as you find it.
Step 8: Follow the instructions appearing on your device screen to install the Zoom app.
Make an exception for Zoom in the Windows Defender Firewall
Step 1: Click on the Windows and R keys together to open the Run app.
Step 2: Enter firewall.cpl in the box next to Open in the Run app screen and tap on the OK option.
Step 3: Choose the option – Allow An App or Feature Through Windows Defender Firewall.
Step 4: Tap on Change Settings.
Step 5: Look for Zoom Video Conferencing.
Step 6: Check the box against Private and Public.
Step 7: Tap on Allow Other Applications and Browse if you do not find Zoom Video Conferencing.
Step 8: Find the Zoom folder and tap OK. After that, allow both Public and Private Networks to access the Zoom Video Conferencing.
Clear Zoom cookies and cache
Step 1: Close the Zoom app if it is open.
Step 2: Type Run in the search bar and tap on the best-matched option to open the Run command/app. You can press Win+R keys for the same.
Step 3: Type AppData in the Run app box and click on the OK button.
Step 4: Launch the Zoom folder.
Step 5: In the Zoom folder, look for the file/folder named data. Now, delete that data folder.
Step 6: Start your Zoom app as you are finished.
Check for the internet connection
Step 1: Go to the Windows Settings program and look for Network and Internet.
Step 2: Check the internet connection status in the Status tab on the left side.
Step 3: Scroll down the options and find Network Troubleshooter.
Step 4: Run this feature to troubleshoot your network issue.
Step 5: Think about resetting your WiFi router or mobile network if the Troubleshooter does not resolve the issue.
Restart your device
Step 1: Click on the start button.
Step 2: Choose and tap on the Power.
Step 3: Now, click on Restart to restart your Windows PC.
Step 4: Follow your device-specific steps to restart your Android, iOS, and Mac device to restart it.
